Hi, my name is Mandy. I have been friends with Bernie for about 10 years. I met him through Leesa. I picked this picture because it shows very clearly how much Bernie loved Leesa. Look at the way he is looking at her.

When I met Bernie I could see he is a very caring person. He was always nice to everyone. When I was down on my luck, Bernie helped me out. I noticed he would help anyone out. He dropped his plans to come take a look at my furnace. You see, Bernie worked as a HVAC tech most of his life. He was good at it. I noticed he was very smart. Not only about HVAC, but every thing he did.

I was sadden when I learned about Bernie passing after almost a year of fighting brain cancer, it broke my heart. I don't understand why, Bernie was the most kind, loving, caring person. You saw I said he would help anyone, even if he didn't have extra money for spending.

He was unable to obtain life insurance because in 2020 someone called a life insurance company and said they were his WIFE (but it was NOT Leesa, but rather someone posing as his wife). This person told them lies about his life habits. Whoever called knew something that happened 20 years in the past (before Bernie and Leesa were together. Leesa didn't know about what the caller informed the life insurance company about. Bernie told Leesa it was so far in the past and it's a life I'd like to leave behind, it wasn't worth bringing up, because it's not who I am now. I'm finally in love and happy), and at that point in Bernie's life he was very UNHAPPY with his current life and found ways, as he put it, numb life. The life insurance went back 20 years and found what the caller informed them about. Bernie got a letter dated April 2020 in the mail from the current life insurance company (a newer policy he was approved for) stating that they are unable to continue to offer him life insurance due to what they found in his records (it was what the person who called saying they're his wife informed them about). The life insurance company RED FLAGGED him to where he is unable to obtain life insurance. They tried to fight it, but they were unsuccessful because there was no proof as to who called. Bernie told them I have had the best life since 2008, I'm happy and I have not had to numb myself to get through an unhappy life. The life insurance company didn't care.

Leesa informed me Bernie told her he was upset and felt like he was leaving her high and dry because of that person (they have a strong feeling of who it was) because if passes he won't have a life insurance policy to help cover expenses. I felt I should help Bernie be at ease (he helped me in a time of need) to try and raise money to help Leesa pay for his service (this Spring) and unexpected medical bills. Leesa told Bernie, you're not leaving me high and dry, you have given me 18 years of happiness, you have taught me how to love and be loved, you made life amazing, you and I doing everything together and hardly apart we have created so many wonderful memories that money can't buy.

Bernie and Leesa had the type of relationship that you see in movies. They had the perfect relationship and when people saw them they could see how much they loved each other. I always wished to have a relationship like theirs and have someone look at me the way Bernie looked at Leesa. I know Leesa does not want to not do anything after all the kindness Bernie has shown to many.

If you can help Bernie be at ease for something he had no control over and donate, it'd be appreciated. If you can't, your prayers would also be appreciated. Leesa is having a hard time with the new life she has been given without Bernie, who was always by her side, if you can pray she can find strength in each new day.
