Benefit for active Firefighter Rob Olsen

Rob was diagnosed with advanced ALS in the winter of 2021. As a twenty- three year veteran, Rob was active in the recovery efforts at Ground Zero and spent his entire career in the firehouse of engine 229 ladder 146. After initially being misdiagnosed, Robs condition continued to deteriorate. At this time, the WTC Health Program does not include neurological illnesses such as ALS. Thus, many of Rob's exceedingly expensive treatments and medications are not covered by insurance. While we continue to fight this injustice, we must do all we can to ensure rob has access to treatment he needs and to relieve the burden placed on Rob, his wife, and 3 kids.
