✨UPDATE TIME ✨
As you all know, Rebekah found a donor. Almost a perfect match, 11 of the 12 factors matched up, and in nearly half the normal time. With that being said this starts the movement of her transplant. Hopefully in the next few months, Rebekah will undergo a bone marrow transplant. As of right now, she is seeing the doctor multiple times a week. With each visit comes it’s own expense. Any and all donations are greatly
“•B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia• With hard news to grasp, I realize I have no other choice than to fight this diagnosis AND win!!! I’ve had blood transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy so far and they found a couple lesions on my kidneys. As of right now, my immune system can’t decipher the difference between my healthy cells and the leukemia cells in my body. I start chemotherapy tomorrow and prayerfully this treatment will send me into a remission stage that I can stay in, so I can move to outpatient chemotherapy only having to travel to UAB approximately twice a week. During my chemotherapy, they’ll be doing a spinal tap to be sure no leukemia cells have made their way into my spinal fluid and I’ll need more blood transfusions for platelets and blood cells and more bone marrow biopsies. After 3 months of chemotherapy, I will be getting a bone marrow transplant, allowing me to have a brand new immune system that will hopefully be able to tell the difference between the healthy cells in my body versus leukemia cells. Once I receive the transplant I should still be in remission and won’t be required anymore chemotherapy following the transplant and will only be required maintenance appointments to be sure the cancer hasn’t came back. I don’t understand why and it’s a lot to take in, but I do know that God has allowed this to be a part of my life and I believe He will allow me to see it through! God is faithful and still true and I’m thankful for even this battle because I know I’m going to come out on top! Cancer cannot hold me down. There are no ailments in Christ and by His stripes I’m healed…I’m claiming my victory even now. I can beat this! Prayers are very much appreciated! #CancerCantHoldMeDown #ByHisStripesIAmHealed”
This is a new Journey happening within her family. Your blessings will be used for gas expenses for back and forth trips, hotel expenses for when her children come to visit, and personal items that the hospital doesn’t provide, and to help with outstanding medical bills. We appreciate any and all donations you feel led to bless her family with! Thank you all for the continued prayers, love, and support!
