Help Our Friend Smile Again!

A Community Effort Led by Living Word Church, Alto Bonito (La Grulla, Texas)

We are reaching out to our community to support a dear friend of our church family. While he is not in our Bible class, he is deeply connected to our congregation and has quietly endured significant hardship.

He is a 62-year-old deaf-mute man who currently has no teeth. This condition severely affects his nutrition, overall health, and dignity. It’s more than a cosmetic issue—it’s a medical and emotional one.

Medical research shows that complete tooth loss can shorten a person’s life expectancy by up to 10 years. Those without teeth are at higher risk for malnutrition, cardiovascular disease, and even depression (Journal of Dental Research, 2013; NIH, 2017).

Our goal is to raise enough money to cover the cost of dentures and related care so that he can eat properly, regain his confidence, and smile again.

Living Word Church in Alto Bonito has long served La Grulla and surrounding areas with a mission rooted in Christian compassion, service, and love for those in need. We believe in restoring dignity to the most vulnerable among us. This effort reflects the heart of our ministry.
