Appeal for restoration of flooded lands
Due to the recent massive flooding of Lake Baringo, Kenya, we’re facing an unprecedented emergency that is literally in the process of undoing our work of the last forty years and abolishing the livelihood of thousands of people in this community.
As you will see from the recent BBC TV piece , RAE, and vast areas of Baringo are underwater severely jeopardising our operations and peoples’ very existence.
Our (Dr. Elizabeth Meyerhoff and Murray Roberts) environmental social enterprise, RAE, supports the local community on the front line of climate change, creating economic opportunity, food security and providing healthcare amongst some of the poorest of the poor.

With our HQ, stores and medical clinic underwater we need to rebuild RAE and its infrastructure. We have rescued RAE’s invaluable 40 year database, grass seed and medical supplies to tents on higher ground. But this is only temporary - the water is still rising. We now need to relocate and rebuild offices, stores, workshops and the clinic to continue our more than ever needed programme.
With your help we have a good chance to save RAE, and bring back the growth of our once thriving community. We thank you for any support you can offer.
