Back to School Support for our Fellow Students
There are about 100 families at our local Elementary school who need educational support, funds to replace clothes they’ve outgrown, and some who face food scarcity as well. We’ve organized volunteers to provide Homework Help after school, and we’re hoping to raise a $100 per family for the 60 families with the greatest need. Anything above this amount will help other families, as well as help cover costs associated with providing the volunteer homework help (sanitizer, masks, paper for packets, pencils, snacks, etc).
We are so deeply grateful for your support. It is helping to close the learning gap that has been exacerbated by COVID, especially for our English language learners. It will help to send them back to school with more confidence, clothes that fit, and food in their bellies. For those that have been isolated with their families it is helping us provide much needed socialization from a safe distance, exposure to grade level homework help, and English language development. Thank you!
