Baby Rice

Tyler and Carrie are expecting their first baby, a boy, this June. They recently found out that he has a heart condition and will need open heart surgery shortly after birth. This also means they will need to relocate to Minneapolis a month before baby's due date. Carrie's sisters and I wanted to start this page to help offset the costs that will come along with missed wages and relocating, as well as the medical bills they will have after the surgery and NICU stay. To better explain the situation, I took this from Carrie's Facebook page:
"...We met with a pediatric cardiologist about a month ago and found out some tough news, that our little guy has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) and a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). This means that his aorta and pulmonary arteries are reversed the opposite way of a normal heart. He will need open heart surgery shortly after he's born, in addition to time in the NICU. We started the planning process this week at the University of Minnesota Health, Maternal Fetal Medicine Center where Baby Rice will be delivered and have his surgical procedures. Due to the nature of the heart defect, we will be relocating there about a month before his due date this summer. I share this all with you because I truly believe there is power in prayers and having people rallying behind you when life gives some challenges. We are asking for your prayers and support for our family with all that is to come...spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. We believe that God is in control and we know that Baby Rice has an amazing team of medical professionals and a great support system cheering him on! Blessings and love to you all!"
