Baby Raziel & The Palmer Family
Donation protected
At 12:30am on Wednesday 9 month old Raziel was found by his father, Rob, with no heartbeat and he was not breathing. They called 911 and first responders arrived and he was airlifted to Levine's Children's Hospital in Charlotte. He was administered ketamine and fentanyl so that he could be intubated. Later, they gave him Narcan to dispel the effects of the other drugs but he did not wake as expected. He had a high fever and they currently have him on antibiotics and antiseizure medications, as a precaution. They believe the cause of this may have been infection, but unfortunately there are no direct answers yet. They will be giving him an MRI tomorrow to see the extent of the damage due to his lack of oxygen during the crisis. At this point they're fearful that he has moderate to severe brain damage affecting the area of his brain that controls his breathing. He remains intubated and has yet to wake. The family is praying hard and waiting for a miracle.
Sammy and Rob also have another very young child, Raelynne, who is very worried about her baby brother. Both parents are missing work during this time to care for their children and could use some community support. No parent should have to stress about making ends meet when their child is in need. Let's pull together and help this family hold on to their hope and stay afloat during this difficult time.
