Help Baby Peyton and Hammel Family

Hello, my name is Scott Hammel. Father of 4 soon to be 5 with my fiancé and their mother Cassandra King. We are currently 34 weeks pregnant with what will be our 5th child Peyton. Peyton will be born with a rare disorder called segmental spinal dysgenesis. Meaning, her thoracic spine and lumbar spine are separated from each other and the spinal cord does not continue through. She will be born paralyzed from the belly button area down. Her lower extremities are already showing signs of deformation in the womb and will not grow at the same rate as the rest of her body. She will also have trouble with bowel and bladder function and has a pelvic kidney meaning her kidney has developed in the pelvic area below the line of paralysis and is assumed will not properly function if at all. Leaving her with 1 working kidney and an inability to voluntarily empty her bladder which can lead to further kidney issues and possibly failure. We are working with a whole team of specialists at Cincinnati childrens hospital and will be transferring all care to childrens and even relocating to Ronald McDonald house in Cincinnati to be able to be there for my fiancé and daughter. We will be staying there at least 2 months or as long as it takes for Peyton to be able to come home. She will go straight into NICU after birth for at least a month and will most likely undergo multiple surgeries her first year of life and continued surgery throughout life. We’re not ones to ask for help under any normal circumstances but desperate times call for desperate measures. We are seeking funding to help cover bills at home while we are away, and any necessities needed that RMHC or CCH do not provide. But also funding to help with medical expenses not covered by insurance and any other expenses that may arise with Peytons disorder.
