Hi all, firstly I want to thank you for taking time to read this!

 

My sweet, wonderful little 8 month old nephew Ben has been diagnosed with severe Progressive Infantile Scoliosis. This is an extreme curve in his spine which if left untreated will continue to get worse and impact his organ development such as kidneys, lungs and heart, and in some cases is fatal.

 

The urgent treatment he requires is in a hospital in Philadelphia in America.

This involves multiple procedures every 8 weeks to straighten his spine.

As you can imagine, travelling from Ireland to the U.S. every 8 weeks is going to come at a huge financial cost to the family.

 

Ben was born 10 weeks early and fought his way through his journey in ICU and we know he is strong enough for this fight if given the opportunity.
