Help After Miscarriage: Our Journey

Hi, for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lexie, and I’m 23 years old. I’m not one to ask for help often, but my wife and I are currently feeling defeated.

My beautiful wife (24 years old) and I recently started fertility treatments to grow our family. Unfortunately, this wasn't the way we envisioned starting the new year. I recently experienced a miscarriage at 8 weeks pregnant. At their age, and it being our first miscarriage, we were told there isn't much testing they can do to determine the exact cause of the miscarriage, but it's likely due to genetic issues.

As we mourn the loss of our sweet baby, we don’t want our fear to prevent us from continuing our journey to grow our family. Unfortunately, my wife’s military insurance only covers a portion of the thousands of dollars we need to make our dreams of having a family possible. Not only did we pay out of pocket for our first IUI cycle, but we also didn’t expect to need another round so soon.

We are reaching out to ask for help in covering the costs of repeating the cycle so that we can become the parents we've always felt we were meant to be. The cost of our sperm donor increased as of this year (2025). We’re hopeful to purchase two vials from this specific donor and have them stored at our fertility clinic for future use as we continue to grow our family.
