Queridos familiares y amigos,

Con mucho pesar les comparto que, después de que mi mamá Bernardita terminó su quimioterapia este pasado diciembre, sufrió una recaída en marzo, lo que ha significado varias hospitalizaciones, múltiples exámenes y tratamientos continuos. Afortunadamente, está en excelentes manos y todos los que la queremos estamos haciendo todo lo posible para que esté cómoda y mantenga la mejor calidad de vida posible.

Mi mamá es una persona increíble, llena de amor y fortaleza, que ha dejado una huella profunda en todos los que la conocen. Muchos nos han preguntado cómo pueden apoyarnos en estos momentos tan difíciles, y por eso hemos decidido reabrir esta campaña de GoFundMe.

Dear family and friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that after my mom Bernardita completed her chemotherapy last December, she experienced a relapse this past March. This has led to several hospitalizations, numerous tests, and ongoing treatments. Thankfully, she is in excellent care, and all of us who love her are doing everything possible to keep her comfortable and maintain the best quality of life we can.

My mom is an incredible person, full of love and strength, who has left a deep mark on everyone who knows her. Many have asked how they can support us during these difficult times, which is why we have decided to reopen this GoFundMe campaign.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated by me and our entire family. For those who can’t contribute financially, we are equally grateful for your kind words, love, and positive energy for my mom and all of us who love her.

Me dirijo a ustedes en este momento para compartir una noticia importante y solicitar su apoyo. A mi mamá, conocida por muchos como "La Catira", le han detectado una lesión en el páncreas que está causando una obstrucción severa de la vía biliar. Esta situación requiere una cirugía casi de emergencia.

Todo ha sucedido muy rápido, pero afortunadamente, mi mamá se siente bien por ahora. Aunque algunos valores se han alterado debido a la obstrucción, los exámenes generales son alentadores. Ya hemos avanzado con los exámenes y consultas, y esperamos tener todo listo muy pronto, ya que la cirugía debe realizarse lo antes posible.

El doctor nos ha indicado que, debido a la complejidad de la cirugía, que incluirá muchas horas en el quirófano, un día en terapia intensiva y una hospitalización de 7 días, el costo estimado oscila entre 25,000 y 30,000 USD. Colocamos como la meta 34,500 USD incluyendo exámenes y medicamentos pre y post operatorios.

Estamos muy agradecidos de que mi mamá esté en excelentes manos y recibiendo la mejor atención posible. Sin embargo, es crucial que pueda operarse antes de que la situación se complique más. Planeamos que la cirugía se realice la próxima semana, entre el 27 y 31 de Mayo, 2024.

I am reaching out to share important news and request your support. My mom, known by many as "La Catira," has been diagnosed with a lesion in her pancreas that is causing a severe obstruction of the bile duct. This situation requires an almost emergency surgery.

Everything happened quickly, but fortunately, my mom is feeling fine now. Although some values have been altered due to the obstruction, the overall tests are encouraging. We have already made progress with the exams and consultations, and we hope to have everything ready very soon, as the surgery needs to be performed as soon as possible.

The doctor has indicated that due to the complexity of the surgery, which will include many hours in the operating room, a day in intensive care, and 7 days of hospitalization, the estimated cost ranges between 25,000 and 30,000 USD. We have set the goal at 34,500 USD to include pre and post-operative exams and medications.

We are very grateful that my mom is in excellent hands and receiving the best possible care. However, it is crucial that she undergo surgery before the situation worsens. We plan for the surgery to take place next week, between May 27 and 31, 2024.
