Ayman & Musad's Marathon for Glioblastoma Research

Hello there! My name is Ayman Hammad. I am a Freshman Behavioral Neurobiology major and Economics Minor on the Pre-Medical Track at Hunter College. My good friend Musad Hossain and I will be running the Brooklyn Marathon in April 2022 in hopes of raising funds for Glioblastoma Research! Glioblastoma Multiforme is the most aggressive type of tumor that arises in the brain and is one of the most lethal forms of Brain Cancer. The current standard of care (consisting of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy) is ineffective, and the median survival time of a person diagnosed with a Glioblastoma is about 15 months; without treatment, it is a paltry 3-6 months. The mission of Glioblastoma Foundation Inc is to modify the current standard of care for glioblastoma by replacing radiation and chemotherapy with targeted small molecule therapies that prolong survival and increase the quality of life of patients diagnosed with this disheartening type of cancer.
