Waking up the human in people through perform arts
Doação protegida
I believe in the power of the performing arts and that they have the potential to harmonise society and liberate individuals. I have the confidence that theatre art, in encounter with the musical and in dialogue with people's lives, can take on a deep relevance. Especially in view of the tensions and abysses that humanity is currently entering through violent communication and misunderstood and unbridled technological development in the direction of AI. Performing arts can have a balancing effect on these developments. It can awaken and grow the human in people.
For this I explore and develop a new inner attitude and approach to free ensemble work and a inward facing kind of aesthetic encounter. Together with my colleagues, i create these performances through two different streams: the artists go to an environment, a company, a group, etc., and spend some time there to immerse themselves in the life, questions and challenges of the local people through creative empathy. What they pick up from the atmosphere there flows into the performance in an improvised way. Also future impulses that are "in the air" can be taken up and illuminated in the performance. These images, words, dynamics and sounds, which spring from the immediate lives of the people, enter into a dialogue in the performance with musical, poetic, philosophical and documentary fragments, which are artistically prepared and designed. The performance is created live, i.e. all participants, the performers, musicians and the audience, are witnesses of a unique event, which directly establishes the connection between the invisible and inaudible and the real life of people.
In August we will continue our previous research and deepen it in an intensive week. From October I want to continue working intensively in this direction for three months with an actress and an actor, preparing a first tour. In the research I am directly connected to the work of the director Eugenio Barba, as well as to the work of the musician Pär Ahlbom, the communication mentor Iris Johansson, and the suggestions of the actor and theater methodologist Michael Chekhov. I was also inspired by the scientific study of Julia Romanovska, on the effect of performative art in leadership training.
To be able to continue the work freely, I need your help. With 4000€ I will be able to pay my colleagues, so that they are free to work with me.
