The Wattbike Team Skydive for Footprints Conductive Education Centre

We’re taking the leap - quite literally - for an incredible cause!

The Wattbike team are skydiving to raise money for Footprints Conductive Education Centre, a Nottingham-based charity that transforms the lives of children with mobility and communication difficulties across the East Midlands.

Why Footprints?

Footprints help babies and children develop vital life skills - like sitting, standing, listening, eating and playing - through Conductive Education, a holistic education approach developed to help children thrive and achieve their full potential.

Their work supports not only the children but their families too, providing knowledge, confidence and strength to face the challenges of living with disabilities. It's a truly inspiring place where every achievement is celebrated.

Staff at Wattbike have seen firsthand the work that Footprints undertake for families across the Midlands. They give the confidence needed for families to care and support children with disabilities. Through weekly sessions they've seen dramatic changes in children's confidence and development, and how it affects not only the children but the families as well.

There is currently no government support, either national or local, for the services that Footprints help with. They rely solely on fundraising and volunteering, which is why Wattbike have chosen them as their key charity for 2025.

Meet Our Skydivers

To raise money, nine brave Wattbikers are stepping (or jumping!) out of their comfort zones to complete a charity skydive:

• James Haslam
• Chris Godber
• Ruby Eagling
• Tayla Nevard
• Joe Norton
• Marie-Clare Dixon
• James Downing-Green
• Stephen Loftus
• Jonathan Oxley

Why We’re Doing This

“Footprints is a wonderful local charity, selected by all our staff as a cause we wanted to get behind. Helping children with mobility and communication issues develop new skills, and giving invaluable support to their parents. The skydiving itself is something I feel less comfortable with! Being someone who isn’t a fan of heights and is rather a nervous flyer. However, good to face your fears, especially alongside a band of fellow Wattbikers!” - Stephen (CEO)

I’m really looking forward to doing the skydive as a team, where we’ll all come together to support each other and help others. This isn’t just a personal challenge – it’s a challenge for all of us. But what makes it truly meaningful is knowing that we’re doing it to raise money and make a difference in people’s lives. The experience will push us out of our comfort zones, but our shared goal will keep us motivated and united. I’m excited to take on this adventure with the team and see the impact we can make together!” - Tayla
