Rob and Nicole Dort's daughter Samantha was born on June 25th of this year with severe Ebstein's Anomaly, a heart defect of the tricuspid valve.

The medical costs of the first month alone totaled over $1 million dollars.  Fortunately, insurance is covering most of that but the $12,000 out of pocket insurance costs, combined with a multitude of other expenses related to this are a large financial burden.

They're balancing many responsibilities during this time including caring for their three-year-old son and staying at UCSF so someone is always there comfort baby Samantha if she wakes up in pain.
