Hi! My name is Asyah Adams. Granddaughter of Errol and Nina Adams. Due to the devastating fires that have swept through the city of Altadena, CA, my grandparents lost their home. When they were forced to evacuate, they had no time to gather any of their belongings, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

This GoFundMe has been created not only to support their immediate needs but to help them reclaim their place in a community that has long been the foundation of their lives. After reaching out to FEMA, we were disheartened to learn that temporary housing assistance would not be provided. Insurance communication has been equally as stressful, with delays and uncertainty about what will be covered.

My grandparents are retired— not people who had anticipated needing to start over at this stage of their lives. These funds will not only extend beyond basic necessities, but will allow them to navigate insurance hurdles, rebuild their home, and begin restoring the life they’ve cultivated in Altadena.
