Apartment Flood Recovery Fund for Mary

Hello everyone! My name is John Grocki. For those of you that know me, you are probably familiar with my mother, Mary and my father, John. My parents have been lifelong residents of Lynn, MA, where they built their lives together and raised me. For 25 years, my family and I called 33 Abbott Street our home. After the sudden passing of my beloved father, my mom and I faced many challenges. We were left with much debt as my father did not have life insurance. Losing a loved one is hard enough as is but an added financial strain only made it more difficult for us. On top of the overwhelming grief my mom and I experienced, our financial hardship finally came to a head when my mother lost the house. However, as time past and we navigated through these tough times, we eventually found ourselves in a much better place physically and emotionally.

My mother has since then moved into an apartment at Caggiano Plaza located at 170 South Common Street in Lynn. She finally felt at home again. Unfortunately, due to the frigid temperatures and extremely severe winds we experienced on Saturday, February 4th, a massive water main pipe froze and burst in the apartment above her. This completely flooded and destroyed her home leaving her displaced and emotionally broken. These past two weeks have been a whirlwind of stress and chaos.

I have created this gofundme to help my mother replace items such as her tv, furniture, small appliances, clothes and other belongings that she has lost in this floods destruction. Naturally things such as photos, mementos and sentimental items cannot be replaced but your donations from this fundraiser will help my mom acquire the essentials she needs to get back on her feet. Any donation, regardless of size, would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. Even sharing this fundraiser with a friend to help spread the word would mean more than anything.
