Bringing Ante Back Home to Croatia

We are raising money to cover the funeral costs for Ante "Bruce" Knežević.

Like many people who migrate to America, Ante originally came to NYC from Croatia in May 1990 with only one blood relative here. Due to U.S. immigration policies, which would make re-entering the States impossible, Ante never had the opportunity to make it back home to visit his family and homeland. He mentioned to a friend that after over 30 years, he would finally return to Croatia in September 2023 to see his mother, three brothers, and two sisters and retire in his hometown.

Ante passed away suddenly in Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY, on August 9th, 2023. Sadly, he lived alone, and his remaining family was not made aware of his death until a week later. Ante's funeral will take place in his hometown in Jasenice, Croatia. All donations will go towards funeral preparations and finally bringing Ante back home to be laid to rest.

Though Ante was a very private person, he was charismatic, kind, and never turned a blind eye to anyone in need. He is survived by his mother, three brothers, and two sisters, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will dearly miss him.
