When there is nothing else you can do...
My neighbors and dear friends are going through a very difficult time this holiday season. Brian was officially diagnosed with ALS this past January. He is only 54. I have seen what a horrible disease this is. His wife Vicki has been his only caregiver since his diagnosis. She also works full time, thankfully from home. However, it has been a very rapid decline. He requires constant care and is now on hospice. She has exhausted every effort to get him the help he needs. Unfortunately, his age plays a big factor. With the inevitable approaching quicker than anyone thought, she recently told me she's going to have to take FMLA which means no pay. She doesn't have many options at this point and is simply exhausted.
I know we hear about people going through this all the time but this one hit home. They have two daughters and the youngest is only 13. I can't imagine what she is dealing with. So, for wonderful people who never ask for anything, I put out this request for them. There is no gesture too big or too small, even just a share.Thank you in advance for all of your kindness, generosity, love and support.
