Angels for Mariangel

Our mother Mariangel was recently admitted to the hospital with pneumonia after being home sick for several days, things took a turn for the worse and she was transferred to ICU and additional tests revealed she is in heart failure and will need a quadruple bypass surgery if her heart is healthy enough for surgery. This has come as a shock to her and our family. Up until now Mariangel has lived independently, even continuing her real estate career. So to hear her health has declined so significantly in a short amount of time has been difficult to come to terms with. Making things more challenging has been the fact that all of her children are a far distance in various states across the country. Post surgery she is going to need around the clock care, her daughters have flown out to be with her at the hospital and her daughter Jennifer is planning to stay for the duration during her recovery. She will no longer be able to live alone. We have to make plans to move her with one of her children most likely Jennifer.

All of these changes come with extreme financial burden that no one was prepared for, from the hospital bills, post operative care, moving, covering existing bills for Mariangel as she has no retirement savings at all. Her children are all stepping up to shoulder the burden as they are able but help with these expenses would ease the burden and stress to allow us to focus on helping our mom heal and transition to her new normal.
