Help Support Angel Zaper & Her Kids
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Tammie Marty - I am the aunt of Angel Zaper and we truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. My family and I have been blind sided this week to say the least!
Many of you know my niece, Angel, has been suffering from migraines, dizziness, ringing in her right ear and hearing loss for sometime now. She had a MRI done on Monday and a follow up appointment yesterday.
The MRI showed a 2.5 cm, very rare tumor, in her head attached to her nerve stem and is termed vestibular schwannomas tumor, so rare- less then 20,000 cases have been reported in the US.
The treatment is an invasive 12 hr brain surgery, where they will have to drill through the back of her skull and slowly dissect the tumor, which will follow with a day in intensive care, 3-5 days in the hospital, and then a 3-4 week recovery which includes PT to help learn how to balance herself again. Depending on her insurance, surgery is scheduled for Jan 4th at Edward Hospital.
* UPDATE: She’s approved to have this surgery at Edwards!
This is going to be very challenging for her. Those of you who know Angel, know that this has been the hardest financial year already as she adjusted back to being a single mom.
Angel is a real estate agent, but she does not have any benefits (paid time off) to cover her down time for the surgery and recovery.
Now with this news of her tumor she will have to go a month or more without working.
We are trying to raise enough money so at least when she goes into surgery she doesn’t have the financial burden weighing on her as to cause unnecessary stress.
To know Angel, is to know she would give the shirt off her back to help someone. She spends most days helping and giving to others, and now it’s our turn to show up for her. Anything donation will help, and we appreciate the understanding and generosity of your hearts.
