Amy's Cancer Journey

Hello everyone.

As many of you know, our lovely friend Amy was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, or as they call it, an invasive ductal carcinoma. The initial diagnosis was that it was Stage 4 metastatic cancer, but it was downgraded to Stage 3, grade 3 cancer before she started treatment. Regardless, the prescribed treatment is aggressive, with hopes they can shrink the current tumors down before surgically removing them. Hopes are high, but the reality of the process is anything but easy.

Amy is showing everyone that she’s prepared for whatever this process throws at her, but the strain it is putting on her and her family is heavy. While her husband Ivan is still able to work full time, Amy’s ability to work a consistent schedule has been reduced, and the bills are starting to stack up. This GoFundMe account is being set up to try and help with that.

From the moment Amy shared her diagnosis, family and friends have been reaching out to help in any way they can - cooking meals, watching Coen, walking the dog, doing chores... However, for many people, they are either too busy or live too far away to be directly involved. Instead of being hands-on, this GoFundMe gives people another option to lend a hand, and help Amy on this journey.

If you know Amy, you know she is not particularly comfortable asking for financial help. That being said, I think we can all agree that battling cancer should be done without the fear of falling behind financially.

Amy, Ivan and Coen have a spirit and generosity that is unmatched and has been felt by many of us over the years. Please take this opportunity to give back to them a little of what they have shared with us. If you can't give please share. Everything helps and is appreciated.
