Hi, my name is Janine and I'm raising money for my mum Amelia's visit to the Gerson Health Center to strengthen her body as much as possible before a hip-replacement surgery urgent due to bone cancer.

Amelia has been living with cancer for a decade, however the past two years have seen a rapid escalation. Now at Stage 4, she is in need of a hip replacement surgery as soon as possible, as otherwise it will break and she is at risk of complete immobility.

As we have been advised by her surgeon that there is a 30% chance of mortality during surgery, and 30% chance also of complications post-surgery, it is incredibly important that in the next month Amelia receives private treatment to increase her body's resilience and strength to the maximum before the surgery. It is also vital to help her regain weight through specialised treatment and nutrition plans, as currently she is losing more week by week.

The Gerson Institute's in-patient care includes a huge variety of medical support and treatments, including lab work and blood tests, physical examinations, on-site doctors and nurses, three daily health-boosting meals, and more. The team will provide a personalised treatment plan, including supplementation and nutrition.

The funds aim toward covering her one-week stay at the Gerson Institute's admission of €6400 (£5,474), with an additional consideration of £500 to help cover the Gerson-recommended supplements and treatments moving forward.

My mum's resilience these past ten years has been immeasurable. In October 2023, she was told she had maybe two months left to live. Her fortitude and commitment to healthy living and eating throughout her illness has been the cause of her survival and strength thus far. Up until last week, she continued to go to work while also coping with the severe chronic pain of cancer.
