Amazing Ava

Hi, my name is Lucas and I'm raising money to cover the cost and expense related to my daughter's surgery. Ava was diagnosed with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy at 18 months old in the summer of 2019. Cerebral palsy can affect individuals in many ways. In Ava's case it affects her ability to walk. She relies on ankle foot orthotics, walkers, physical therapy and occupational therapy among other therapeutics to help improve her ability to function independently in the world.

The physicians suggested selective dorsal rhizotomy three years ago when she was diagnosed. I was strongly opposed to this intervention initially out of fear for Ava's sake. After much research and discussion with Ava's doctors, we know this surgical intervention will help us provide Ava with the best opportunity to avoid future problems/complications of her diagnosis and to help foster a bright, thriving, independent future.
