In late October 2016, Bula was admitted into Maui Hospital ICU as he was in for the fight of his life.
Thru much prayers, aloha, support and love from many many people, our brother, Roland "Bula/Mogo" Logan is on his way to recovery. Here is a message that Bula wrote on his FB page on January 16, 2017:
"To all the prayer warriors, family, sisters n brothers of Pauahi, love ones, friends, all that put your heart felt spirit into my recovery. God has answered all the heart felt prayers. I had a miraculous recovery from a pneumonia super bug. Six weeks in a coma took my spirit out of my body to heaven. A place of pure light and bliss. I met my mother, grandmother, n my master Kalua Kaiahua, all who trained me in pule, hooponopono, haha, elua, Laau lapaau, and Akua. I visited all of my love ones that had passed to heaven. Saying hi to friends, family, pets, Braddah Iz,Pekelo, Aunty Genoa, and more. It seemed like only five minutes. Then Uncle, mom n tutu said it was time to back. I told them it's only been five minutes. They said five minutes in heaven is about five and a half weeks down on earth. I got sent back. I am humbled and grateful to all of you that came to see me and help. I'm almost there and am blessed to loved by you all. Mahalo Ke Akua."
Bula and his ohana now have major medical expenses to deal with and as an ohana we are setting up this GoFundMe account to help with his needes. Lynn Makua Akeo, our KS class of 86 rep and myself will oversee the administration of this account so to ensure accountablity and disbursement.
We will update you on his progress if you are not on Facebook.
I spoke to him this morning and he is very grateful for all the love and support and knows that journey and battle to recover is still ahead.
