I'm not sure how to explain this because I can't make sense of it myself, but I will try my best
Dad had been sick for a few days with what seemed like a stomach bug.
Late night Friday / Saturday morning dad went to RGH via ambulance
Where they diagnosed him severely dehydrated and with having gastritis
Early Sunday morning (around 3:30 am) Dad had a massive stroke
Before being air lifted to morgantown he started having some trouble breathing so they had to sedate him and put him on the ventilator
Once he got to Morgantown they took him straight in for scans and started running tests.
When he had the massive stroke 1/4 to 1/2 of his brain was damaged. They showed us his CT scan and explained that this could swell and eventually push to the other side of his brain and he would need to have part of his skull removed. He went into severe septic shock causing his organs to fail and they have placed a PICC line giving strong antibiotics. He is was also having issues with clotting. When he went into cardiac arrest they performed CPR for 6 minutes. They also placed a catheter to start dialysis right away for organ failure, however the doctor stated that even if all of that helped it would not help with the deficits from the brain damage from the stroke.
With his family around him .. We prayed over him and at 8:12 PM my daddy gained his angel wings
We are asking for help covering the cost for his cremation and to help my mom with anything she may need because unfortunately he didn't have life insurance
