Alice needs a safe home

Alice* has multiple disabilities, is on the DSP and lives at home with her parent. This isn't safe. Her parent is abusing her. She needs to move out urgently.

It gets worse. She got into a relationship with someone and Centrelink are now threatening to take away her pension, because they think this new man will be her provider. But it doesn't work that way. This isn't some relationship out of the 1950's. Their forced dependency rule is threatening to push her into even more hardship.

She contacted multiple domestic violence lines. No help.
She contacted multiple legal centres regarding her Centrelink situation. It doesn't look good.
She looked into a Centrelink crisis payment. No, she doesn't qualify.
She contacted multiple housing services. The waitlist is years long (if it is even open) and they require a tedious amount of evidence to prove her high needs. And the process of getting this evidence puts her in even more danger.
She contacted her MP. So far, next to no help.

She just needs a safe home. That's it. Her disabilities don't give her the superhuman strength needed to navigate this system. She is going to collapse from burnout soon

If you have the capacity to chip in, even a small amount, this could do a world of good for her. And if you don't have the capacity, giving this campaign a boost or leaving a positive comment would be appreciated.

Some day Alice won't need to live in this dreadful house - and it may well be thanks, in part, to you, dear reader.

Update 25/5/26: Through self-advocacy, and other advocacy, she was able to confirm from Centrelink, she would not have the partner rules apply to her in her current circumstances. This is a big win for her.

When she moves out, she'll need to move in with someone like her current partner, due to her high-needs disability. Centrelink's partner rules threaten to make her life a misery if she does this.

We're still hoping to raise enough to allow her to move to a safe house - which is where your support counts. Donations (of any size), positive comments, sharing this fundraiser - please feel free to help in whatever way works for you.
