**In Loving Memory of Alexia Asimakopoulos**

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

We come together today with heavy hearts to honor and remember the beautiful soul that was Alexia Asimakopoulos. Alexia's journey was one of love, resilience, and unwavering kindness. Born in 1988 in Athens, Greece, she found her forever home when she was adopted by Vasili and Patra Douvros in 1991 and immigrated to Canada with her new family. Her life was a testament to the power of connection, love, and selflessness.

In 2004, destiny brought Alexia into the life of Kosta at the Profit Elias Greek Orthodox Church fundraiser. Their meeting was the spark that ignited a deep and lasting friendship. Despite life's twists and turns, they kept their bond alive through the years, reconnecting in 2013. It wasn't long before their friendship blossomed into a beautiful romance, and they became inseparable.

The year 2015 marked a significant milestone in their journey as Alexia and Kosta exchanged engagement vows, and two years later, in 2017, they were joined in holy matrimony. Their love story was an embodiment of commitment, respect, and a profound sense of togetherness.

However, life had its own challenges to present. The couple faced the painful reality of polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition that prevented them from conceiving a child of their own. Yet, Alexia's maternal instincts shone through as she embraced her role as a doting aunt to her many nieces and nephews, showering them with love and care.

Tragedy struck when Alexia was diagnosed with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) on Friday, August 18, 2023. TTP, a rare and deadly disease, took her away from us all too soon, claiming her life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura is an affliction that affects only 3.7 cases per million people each year, with two-thirds of those cases occurring in women. Its exact cause remains a mystery, making it a formidable and insidious adversary.

Today, we stand united to support Kosta in this time of immense grief. The loss of Alexia has not only left an indelible void in our lives but has also created unexpected financial burdens. It is in this spirit that we humbly reach out to you, our dear friends and extended family, to join hands in raising funds to alleviate the financial strain brought about by this tragic event. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in helping Kosta navigate this challenging period.
