Fundraiser in Memory of Alexander Wood — A Life Taken Too Soon
It is with profound sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Alexander Wood, a bright and beloved 15-year-old, whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident while returning home from Jalama Beach. He had just accomplished something truly meaningful: earning his Santa Barbara County lifeguard certification, a reflection of his deep desire to protect and care for others. Two of his close friends, who were with him, also lost their lives in this devastating accident.
Alex was full of promise, kindness, and an infectious joy that touched everyone who knew him. He was an excellent student, a loyal friend, and someone who lived with an open heart. He loved nature and found peace in the mountains, but his true home was the ocean. Whether swimming, surfing, or simply being near the water, the ocean was where Alex felt most free.
He brought warmth and laughter wherever he went—a smile, a joke, a hug—always ready to lift others up. He loved his family fiercely, especially his three brothers, Owen, Miles, and Henry, his mother Louisa, and his father John. Their bond was unbreakable, and their pride in him immeasurable.
We are shattered by his loss, but we are also so proud of who Alex was and all he had already accomplished. His future was bright, and his spirit of service and community made a lasting impact.
This fundraiser is being organized to support Alex’s family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. All donations will go directly toward funeral expenses, support for his brothers, and other unexpected costs as they grieve their beloved son and brother.
Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—means more than words can say. Let us come together to honor Alex’s memory and surround his family with love and strength in this time of sorrow.
Thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your generosity.
