We are Atherton Laburnum Rovers Ladies, a tier 6 women’s football team. We are completely unpaid and play purely for the love and enjoyment of the game. On Sunday, 6 September 2026, during our Women’s FA Cup 1st qualifying round match against Curzon Ashton, our player Alana Pennington was involved in an on-field collision. She sustained a significant blow to the back of her head, resulting in an immediate medical emergency. Alana suffered an instant seizure, followed by periods of losing consciousness and subsequent seizures. Thanks to the heroic, immediate actions of our team physio and on-field players with medical training, Alana was stabilised until emergency services arrived.

The Impact on Alana's Life:

Alana was hospitalised for five days with a severe concussion. Because of the trauma and seizures, she faces a long and challenging road ahead:

Loss of Independence: She is legally unable to drive for a minimum of 3 to 6 months.

Financial Strain: Due to ongoing complications, she is unable to return to work for the foreseeable future.

How Your Donation Helps:

We have set up this page to alleviate the immediate financial burden Alana will suffer over the coming months. Our goal is to give her the financial peace of mind she needs to focus entirely on achieving a full recovery.

Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping a young, amateur female footballer regain her health and quality of life.

Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting Alana.
