I giorni 20 e 21 Gennaio 2026 il ciclone Harry ha colpito duramente la costa siciliana e, in particolare, l’area di Acitrezza, borgo marinaro in provincia di Catania.

La nostra sede, situata sotto il livello del mare, è stata completamente allagata e resa inagibile. I danni subiti hanno comportato:

• la distruzione di muri divisori, porte, vetrate, impianti elettrici e idraulici;

• il danneggiamento o la perdita delle attrezzature;

• l’impossibilità di riprendere le attività in tempi brevi, proprio alla vigilia della stagione.

Chi siamo

Siamo un’associazione sportiva dilettantistica che opera come diving center ad Acitrezza nell’area marina protetta “Isole Ciclopi”.

La nostra attività principale è la promozione della subacquea attraverso immersioni ricreative, corsi di formazione, inclusione e tutela del mare nell’ambito dello sport dilettantistico e dell’associazionismo.

Accanto all’attività sportiva, nel tempo abbiamo sviluppato un impegno concreto anche sul piano sociale e ambientale. In particolare realizziamo:

• attività periodiche di pulizia dei fondali marini;

• iniziative e workshop di sensibilizzazione sul mare e sul rispetto dell’ambiente.

• immersioni inclusive per persone con mobilità ridotta;

Perché chiediamo aiuto

Siamo una ASD e non una grande struttura commerciale.

Un evento eccezionale come il ciclone Harry ha superato le nostre capacità di intervento immediato.

Chiediamo un aiuto per poter:

• ripristinare una sede operativa sicura;

• recuperare o sostituire l’attrezzatura indispensabile;

• tornare a svolgere le attività sportive, ambientali ed inclusive che da anni portiamo avanti sul territorio dell’area marina protetta “Isole Ciclopi” di Acitrezza.

Come verranno utilizzati i fondi

Le risorse raccolte saranno destinate esclusivamente a:

• messa in sicurezza e ripristino della sede;

• sostituzione o riparazione delle attrezzature danneggiate (mute, GAV, erogatori e materiali tecnici);

• riavvio delle attività associative, ambientali, divulgative e inclusive.

L’andamento dei lavori e l’utilizzo dei fondi saranno comunicati attraverso aggiornamenti pubblici, nel segno della massima trasparenza.

Help Us Recover from the Emergency Caused by Cyclone Harry

What Happened

On January 20–21, 2026, Cyclone Harry hit the Sicilian coast hard, severely affecting the seaside village of Acitrezza, near Catania.

Our facility, located below sea level, was completely flooded and left unusable.

The damage included:

• destruction of internal walls, doors, glass panels, and electrical and plumbing systems;

• damage to or total loss of equipment;

• the inability to resume activities in the short term, just as the new season was about to begin.

About Us

We are a non-profit amateur sports association operating as a diving center in Acitrezza, within the protected marine area of the Isole Ciclopi.

Our main mission is to promote scuba diving through recreational dives and training courses, while also fostering inclusion and protecting the sea through amateur sports and community-based activities.

Over time, alongside our sports activities, we have built a strong social and environmental commitment. In particular, we carry out:

• regular underwater clean-up dives;

• awareness initiatives and workshops focused on ocean protection and environmental respect;

• inclusive diving experiences for people with limited mobility.

Why We Are Asking for Help

All funds raised will be used exclusively for:

• securing and restoring our facility;

• repairing or replacing damaged equipment (wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, and technical gear);

• restarting our association’s sports, environmental, educational, and inclusive activities.

We will share public updates on the progress of the work and the use of funds, with full transparency.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All funds raised will be used exclusively for:
