Ai's Family Needs Your Support Now
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a humble request for support. It’s very hard for me to ask for help, and honestly, I feel ashamed to do so. But my mom (from the Philippines) who just celebrated her 87th birthday on January 2nd, is currently in the ICU, intubated, and fighting for her life. She has survived multiple strokes over the past four years, but her health is now in a critical state, and it’s unclear how much time she has left.
My mom hasn’t seen her older grandchild since before the pandemic, and my younger child, who is now 3, has never even met her in person. It breaks my heart to think my kids may never have the chance to know their grandmother, and I desperately want to make that possible before it's too late.
I’ve been juggling school as I work toward becoming a nurse, my job, and raising two young children. Soon, I may not be able to provide the hands-on care my mom needs once I become a nurse. But right now, I just want to be there for her, to care for her in these final days, and to give my children the opportunity to meet their grandmother.
We need your help to raise funds for our flights possibly, hospital expenses, and other associated costs. My husband, who works at a hospital, will also need to accompany us to help care for our kids and support me during this difficult time. My younger child has never flown internationally, and this trip is critical for our family.
I never thought I would be in a position to ask for financial help, and it’s incredibly difficult for me. But any assistance—whether a donation or a prayer for my mom’s health—would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your understanding, kindness, and support during this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ai
