Aid for Jodi Ventura's Family in Crisis

Hello, my name is Bea Ventura. On February 11th, 2025, my mother Jodi "Lucky" Ventura lost her battle with depression and passed away. To know my mother was to know an extremely special woman who loved and cared for everyone she interacted with. She was a woman who sought joy in everything she did and everyone she met.

Losing my mother has broken my heart. I’ve lost such an important person, and in my ways I’ve lost a lot of the foundation my life was built on. I don’t think I will ever be able to fully articulate how hard it’s been to lose the woman who raised me and taught me everything I know about life. In no short words, my mother meant the world to me.

What I can articulate however, is my need for support in this time. My mother lost her life earlier than one should, and predictably this has left a lot of unfinished business that I must now take responsibility for. In order to meet these obligations and begin my path back to stability, I have to do the one thing I hate the most: asking for financial assistance. This is not something I take lightly, but I’ve decided now is the time to be vulnerable and ask for help. Here are my priorities with the funds I hope to raise with this GFM.

  • Personal Expenses- Shortly before losing my mother, I got into a car accident and totaled my car. Some of the money raised will go to affording my normal living expenses and repairing my car so that I have transportation. Normal living expenses include groceries, bills, etc..

  • Pets- My mother left me with a significant number of pets, most of which cannot be rehomed and require specialized care and food to maintain their health.

  • Housing- I have begun the process of moving into her home, which has significant structural and quality of life issues that need addressing. Thankfully, the cosmetic side of things is fine but the house is in a state of disarray that needs immediate addressing as my mother had intended. Not only will addressing these issues help keep me in stable housing, but I truly believe that fixing the house my mother cherished and adored deeply will be one of the single best ways I could honor her and her memory. She often spoke of her vision for the house, and I would love to be able to pick up where she left off.

  • My mother owned two cars, neither of which are in driving condition. I need funds to repair these cars. I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do with these cars yet, but for now I can’t do anything with them until necessary repairs are complete.

I’m sure there are a myriad of other things I’m not currently considering that will require funding, so I’m really hoping I can fundraise a lot of the expenses I’ve inherited and get everything in my life back on track as I mourn the loss of my mother.
