Aid Don Sanger's Healing Journey

This is Dave & Nancy Wattles on Fairway Cove in Verandah. We have been fortunate enough to have Don Sanger aka “Don the Bug Guy” as our pest control person since we built our home in 2014. To know Don is to love him. He is a friend to all in Verandah and willing to go above and beyond to help anyone in need. After Ian, Don was here with his chainsaw clearing trees and brush and helping with anything customers needed, and that included even Verandah homeowners who were not his customers.

Now, our friend Don needs our help. This past Thanksgiving, Don severely injured his foot and ankle. Since that day, he has undergone three surgeries, endured terrible pain, and at one point, doctors told him he could lose his leg below the knee if the third surgery was not successful. Fortunately, the third surgery appears to have been successful, but he has been confined to his bed or recliner and unable to work. He has been fortunate to have a wonderful young man, Jordan, who lives in Broward County and comes here on Sunday, spends the week at Don’s home, and services Don’s customers, then returns to his home on the other side of the state late Friday.

He is currently in a boot and on crutches but still not able to work. He is only able to take a few steps at a time. He has horrible health insurance, and this injury is expected to cause a lifelong financial burden.
