Keep a Home for Kids in Haiti Open!

My husband Lee and I spent a month in Kenscoff, Haiti, right after the earthquake in 2012. We are still in touch with friends we made there, including Alex, who ran the sports program we helped create (pictured smiling on the left below).

Alex sent us the below e-mail a few days ago, about one of the orphanages we spent a lot of time in, called Amis de Jesus:
"The kids are great, Amis de Jesus kids... they have a lot financial difficulties, so they try to keep most the employees but we don't know in the end... so we don't know the future.
This morning I talked to Mr. Nicolas (Amis de Jesus principal), he told me about two major problems:
1) The first is feeding the children. He told me Food for the Poor has habit to give them food but until now they don't receive yet. The food cost is about $800 USD per month.
2) The second is the kids house; now they rent a house, it costs $792 USD per month. Mr. Nicolas, said he has a field, he hope to built a house for the kids, but he doesn't have enough money to do it..."

We could tell you countless stories about the adorable and smart children (pictured above!), the insanely hard-working staff and volunteers, and how much we were touched by them. But we’re going to keep this short and sweet: the kids need food and a place to sleep, and the employees need to be paid. We are hoping to raise enough to cover three months of their expesnes. Please help us help them! We would be so grateful. Thank you thank you!
