Access for All Youth in Scouting

Troop 799 Scouts and CraftingaCause are raining funds to purchase an ActionTrack All Terrain Wheelchair, or alternative All-terrain wheelchair to be used by the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council to ensure those with physical disabilities  are able to access the Outdoor Scouting Program.

As it stands, we do not have adaptive equipment to helps scouts or scout leaders access hiking trails or camps. To do so, one must have their own equipment and likely a team of people to push them. Although, doable for some a larger population that are mobile but have limitations, may be excluded from such activities. For example, we have encountered scouts on the spectrum with limited mobility who were unable to part-take in outdoor programs due to such limitations.  

We ask that you consider making a donation to help use purchase a chair for our council.  Ideally, we would love to be able to purchase an adult and youth chair.
