Aaron Sanders’ Battle for Life
I am a friend of Aaron Sanders, a 40-year-old
single father of three. Born in Waterford (and a ‘99 FLB grad), Aaron and his family have
been living in Union City and are planning a
move back to Edinboro in March.
Twelve years ago Aaron had his first heart
attack, followed by open heart surgery and
three subsequent heart attacks, stent place-
ments, and eventual pacemaker.
For four years, Aaron has battled renal failure and is now in Stage V kidney disease. He receives dialysis for nine hours per day, every day, at home, where he is unable to walk. Aaron has advanced neuropathy in both legs and arms. And, he is blind in his right eye.
Aaron is a fighter. He’s a soft spoken, good-
natured, generous family man who, before his illness, was a thoughtful friend to many. He
hates to ask for help, even now, at his lowest
point physically and emotionally. Still, he
keeps a strong resolve and positive outlook.
Mounting hospital bills and other medical
expenses have taken their toll. Aaron has
bimonthly hospital visits and has been unable to work for nearly ten years. Childcare costs
and other living expenses are looming. A
Motorized Scooter would be life changing
for him!
Aaron prays that he can get back on the list for a kidney transplant. Any financial assistance he receives couldn’t come at a more critical
time and will be appreciated beyond words! God bless those who are in a position to help
this kind man and his family.
