A Service Dog for Meera

Hi everyone! My name is Meera and I'm raising funds for a multipurpose service dog

Backstory-

From the ages of 18-21 I have been diagnosed with a plethora of disabilities and chronic illnesses including; Hyper mobility Spectrum Disorder, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, and Chronic Migraines. I'm sure a lot of you just see those as medical terms but these have been causing a negative impact on my body since I was in my teens. Each of my disabilities come with their own debilitating symptoms (i.e. dizziness, fainting, fatigue, tremors, GI issues, chronic body pain, anxiety and more).

With that being said I've tried multiple treatments such as medication, physical therapy and even surgery, and while I have gotten temporary relief it's not enough. Based on what I've learned in regards to what will come after I've graduated college, I believe that having a service dog will help increase my independence and improve my quality of life.

I have started my search process of finding a dog that will help with the following tasks;

-deep pressure therapy for assisting with anxiety & pain flare ups

-alerting me to sit down when needed

-detecting changes in heart rate

-interrupting anxiety induced self harm behaviors

-changing positions for blood circulation

-item retrieval
