Zayden is a very special 10 year old boy with an ongoing rare seizure disorder called FIRES. This is a rare type of epilepsy that was caused by a febrile infection. Due to the intensity of his seizures and the fast onset, he is no longer able to recognize when one is about to begin. This is why it would be of great benefit to him and his mother to have a Seizure Medical Alert dog. These dogs can alert Zayden and those around him that a seizure is coming and help make the environment as safe as possible to avoid injury. Unfortunately these animals cost over 20,000 dollars and there are minimal to no resources that provide them at no cost in our area.
