A new transport for the cycling family

Hi we are a family of 6 people. Matilde and yousef with their 4 kids from 4 until 12.

We started our journey in France 3 years ago in September 2021 and we went until Bulgaria walking with a donkey and a carriage, to go to Palestine the country of Yousef. We walked France ,Italie , Slovenia, Croatia, Hungaria , Romania , Bulgaria.

We always wanted to show to the kids the most that we can and that is why walking was the best , to meet all the people that we can in every single piece of the country that we pass, so that they can think and get an opinion by themselves about the world and experiment everything in life.

After Europe , Turkey , Asia and a new dilemma caused by borders and distances.

We took the decision to leave our donkey in Bulgaria at the end of the winter 2023 that we spent there in a natural reserve for donkeys luckily and to continue with bicycles. A hard and sad decision to make .

Meanwile the genocide in Gaza started.

We decided to continue our trip hoping that the situation in Palestine would get better and we started to bike Turkey in March 2024 .

We biked Turkey then Iraq, and in Iraq it was the moment to go direction Palestine but the situation was still bad so we decided to postpone our final destination and to continue in the gulf countries until Oman in the hope to settle down for a while until we can enter Palestine safely.

Kuwait , Saudi Arabia (by pick up because of the desert), Emirates and now Oman.

After a family talking and all these years of experiences , we know that (and since we cannot live in Palestine ) we like the Arabic culture and language, we know that the kids (and us) need to have a long resting period and to settle down for a while.

Our hopes to stay in Oman may not be possible or as easy as we hoped that it would be because of the bureaucracy (visa requirements) and that we are a family not just one person, so our needs are not the same a single person coming here to work or for a dmall period of time.

After some more thinking and discussing possibilities we are imagining and hoping again that life in Tunisia is the best option for us. There are no complications to enter the country with a French passport and to stay there for a long period. Plus it is easy to go from there to france if something urgent happens or to Palestine when the situation allows it. So we think it is a good choice and a nice compromise to continue the education of our kids and reach our end goal.

But for this we need your help because Oman is far and we need to take a plane to go to Tunis. The best would be to take our bikes with us to be able to navigate in Tunisia until we find a place to stay.

THE FUNDS will be used to

- buy our plane ticket for 6 people and 5 bikes , or if we are obliged to leave our bikes to buy new ones in Tunisia.

Our project is to start little by little to make a farm with animals and plants in the respect of nature. To work a piece of land to be self sufficient and to work our skills (wood work for yousef and sewing and medicinal plants for Matilde).
