Bill and Linda Noddin are in desperate need of a miracle.
In 2006, Blair was born with Schizencephaly, Hypopituitarism, Cerebral Palsy and blindness. His prognosis wasn't good - he spent the first days of his life at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine. After 3 weeks, the team of doctors told the family to just take him home and love him.... they didn't think he'd live past 2 weeks. For 19 weeks, Blair's life wasn't so great. His Opiate-addicted mother exposed him to dangers and neglect that no child should EVER endure, to the point of being labeled as 'Failure to Thrive' by DHHS. Wanting to protect him from an unsafe situation, Bill and Linda made the decision to immediately become Foster Parents for Blair and eventually adopt him. This saved his life. They wanted to provide a life for him that was filled with love and happiness, and safety. What REALLY happened, is Blair brought them more love and joy than they could have imagined possible!
Fast forward 12 years - 12! Blair is THRIVING and will turn 13 in May! Every night, Linda rocks him to sleep to Celine Dion's 'Beautiful Boy' (You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/RuMamtXIuRM ), and he LOVES it! He will make noises as bedtime nears to get Linda to sing to him. Every morning, he wakes up with a big smile as Linda and Bill greet him. Blair touches the hearts of all who have the privilege of meeting him.
Blair's room is on the first floor, and the bathroom is on the 2nd floor. He's now over 50 pounds, and it's dangerous to carry him upstairs. Bill injured his back in a fall from a roof, so Linda has to do the lifting and carry him upstairs. She almost fell during one of these trips, so she now must get him upstairs in a seated position. They are in desperate need of a handicapped-accessible bathroom on the first floor.
Blair's growth is also creating a critical need with transportation. He is in the absolute last size toddler car seat that they make, and he's already outgrown it. It is a very difficult maneuver trying to get Blair into his car seat - it's a miracle that Linda hasn't injured herself trying to maneuver him into the back seat! They are at the place that they absolutely need a van that has wheelchair accessibility or they will no longer be able to transport him to his numerous doctor's appointments.
They've tried every conceivable angle to resolve these issues on their own. They tried to do a refinance on their house, but the bank refused due to lack of adequate income. Linda has called every organization they know of trying to get help - all to no avail. Either the agencies don't build bathrooms, or they were just barely above the income cap for assistance. And now they need help - and believe me, they do NOT like asking for help. It was hard for me to even get them to agree to this fundraiser.
Linda and Bill are such wonderful people, with hearts of gold. They have dedicated their lives to Blair. They would do anything for anyone, and never ask for anything in return. They are not looking for attention or sympathy because of their situation, and they keep Blair from social media save for an occasional post.
Please, consider helping build Blair’s bathroom and get him the transportation he needs. You will be appreciated beyond measure. <3
