On the 18th of January, 2019, our family lost a friend, wife, and mother. Tonya Renee Brooks, after having fought bravely and fearlessly, succumbed to breast cancer, leaving behind a loving husband and daughter, and many, many, friends and family.
This whole experience has rocked us all. But we can now stand in amazement, knowing that the bravest among us was Tonya herself. She loved her family fiercely and displayed it every day in endless consideration of her family's wellbeing, even as her body was ravaged by this terrible disease. Without a doubt, Tonya was the hero of her family. And we will sing her praises forever.
As many of us are aware, Tonya's crowning glory was, and is still, her beautiful daughter Dakota Rose Brooks. Tonya, more than anything else in this life, wanted to see Dakota grow and thrive. And we can now take comfort in knowing that Tonya herself now lives and grows in Dakota.
We are asking that all of us ensure Tonya's legacy by starting a fund in Tonya's honor, and for Dakota's future. We know that, in seeing little Dakota grow and achieve, Tonya continues to live among us.
Dakota is now attending the Bixby Oaks Children's Center and Early Learning Academy, a school in which Tonya sought out and enrolled Dakota herself, and intended to enroll her at the Little Owl School once Dakota had begun preschool. Tonya did this looking to the future.
Let us ensure that the future Tonya envisioned is realized by assisting in the funding of Dakota's schooling at Bixby Oaks, to begin the college fund Tonya intended for Dakota, and to assist in the final expenses for Tonya to be laid to rest at the Anaheim Cemetery in Anaheim, California on January 26th, 2019. May God bless Tonya and everyone she loved.
