This family is in dire need of your help. This is the father's second chance in life and a family. His previous wife and three children were killed in an earthquake. He and his eldest daughter, who was seriously injured, were the only survivors. He was fortunately given a second chance in life when he met his current wife who became pregnant with Alice. During a brief visit to the US, the wife went into labor and, unfortunately, this beautiful girl was born prematurely at 35 weeks and 6 days. She has multiple serious medical problems including CCHS (congenital central hypoventilation syndrome), chronic respiratory failure, s/p tracheostomy and ventilator dependence, total colon Hirschsprung's disease. Alice has been hospitalized since birth at Stroger Hospital , Lurie Children's Hospital, and LaRabida Children's Hospital. Her father is doing the best he can to provide for his family but he too is going through serious medical complications. He has been robbed twice and has suffered a stroke, which forced him to him to take time off work. The family is left with little or no money for basic necessities.
