Zynn's Top Surgery Support

My name is Zynn. I’m a 27 transmasc nonbinary artist. I’ve decided to take the leap and ask for help with top surgery. I’ve been saving what I can, though it’s often just a few dollars at a time. One of my biggest struggles is being seen as my true self in society’s eyes. I’ve tried everything to be recognized for who I am, but without this life-changing, dysphoria-relieving surgery, it feels impossible.

I’ve struggled with my identity for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always wanted to be a boy—dress like a boy, play like a boy, act like a boy. I grew up in a religious family, and there were mixed reactions to my tomboyish personality. Some people were supportive and accepting, while others insisted I would grow out of it. Still, I remained curious and longed to be my true self. I was often just labeled a tomboy. It wasn’t until high school, after learning about transgender people, that those feelings intensified. I started exploring my identity more seriously, and by college, I came out to my friends—and some family—and began socially transitioning.

Living in this body has caused me immense emotional and mental pain for years. I’m lucky to have a few supportive loved ones who help me get through the hardest days. I’ve also found some relief through art, which has been a powerful outlet for expressing myself and coping with dysphoria. But while support and creativity help, this surgery is what I truly need to feel aligned in my body and at peace with myself.

I’m doing everything I can to save, but I have to be honest: I need help. Since the pandemic, I’ve faced many hardships—including periods of homelessness and couch-surfing. I currently work a minimum-wage job and am going back to school. On my own, it could take years to afford this surgery, but your support could make it possible so much sooner. I’m committed to bettering my life and pushing forward toward my goals.
