While attending Colorado Christian University, I have been blessed to study the Bible in one of the top-ranking university for theological studies in the country. In my pursuit to know the Lord and His Word intimately and deeply, I believe that the skills I have been learning are invaluable in my preparation for ministry.

This semester I studied Paul's missionary journeys in depth and how they affect our understanding of his writings to the churches in Greece. After studying Paul, his companions, the locations of his letters, and Greek culture, I have the opportunity to capstone everything learned throughout the semester with 10-day trip to Greece. The trip will take us through Thessaloniki, Phillippi, Berea, Meteora, Delphi, Corinth, and Athens, spending a day in each to tangibly see and learn about the locations mentioned in the Bible. These are all real locations that the apostles stood in and can still be physically experienced. It is easy to read the scripture so often that it can begin to feel like a rehearsed story, but seeing the physical places recorded in the Bible makes tangible the reality that our scripture is reliable and relevant.

Dr. David Bosworth, a leading expert on aspects of biblical Roman Culture and leader of several similar trips in the past, says that students learn more on this trip than in an entire semester of education combined. That is the value he has found in personally seeing the cities listed in the New Testament; walking where the Apostle Paul walked. I hope to experience that value for myself. Because I am working my way through school—praise God for His provision through work and the generosity of others—I need assistance to pay for this trip.
