My husband and I never imagined we’d be in this position.

My husband is transgender, and because of that, he has faced relentless harassment—from losing his job due to discrimination, to being followed and recorded in public, to even having someone show up at our home trying to intimidate us and asking deeply invasive questions about his body. That was the last straw. We no longer feel safe where we are.

We’ve already arranged to move closer to family for safety and support and have paid a deposit on a place, but after losing our main source of income, we can’t afford the upfront costs, like first month’s rent, moving expenses, and a reliable car to make the trip and start over once we get there. Our current vehicle simply won’t get us where we need to go.

I have accepted a new, full time job with great income that will start on September 12th remotely.
