A Helping Hand for Alona and Abbey

I’m starting this fundraiser for my neighbour and friend, Alona, who is facing yet another heartbreaking vet emergency with her beautiful girl, Abbey\.
Abbey originally belonged to Alona’s mum, who passed away a few years ago\. Alona and her mum were incredibly close\. Alona lived with her and cared for her for years, and when her mum passed away, Abbey became an even more precious part of Alona’s family — and a very special connection to her mum\.
Abbey is now very unwell with serious gastrointestinal problems\. The vets believe there may be something wrong inside her stomach and she needs exploratory surgery to find out what is happening and hopefully fix it\.
The surgery alone was estimated at around $3,600, but things have now become more serious\. Abbey’s latest blood results aren’t good and she also needs a blood transfusion, adding even more to an already substantial vet bill\.
This comes after an incredibly difficult few years for Alona\. She has already had to say goodbye to two of her older dogs, and her other remaining dog has recently undergone surgery to have an eye removed\.
Anyone who loves their animals knows how quickly veterinary bills can add up, especially when several emergencies happen one after another\. Alona has done everything she can for her dogs, but after so many illnesses, surgeries and losses, the financial pressure has become overwhelming\.
I would really love to take just a little of that pressure away from her so she can concentrate on Abbey and getting her through this\.
We are hoping to raise enough to help cover Abbey’s exploratory surgery, blood transfusion and the veterinary care she may need afterwards\.
Any amount, even a few dollars, would mean so much\. And if you aren’t in a position to donate, simply sharing Abbey’s fundraiser would be an enormous help\.
Abbey is more than Alona’s dog\. She is family, and she carries a very special connection to a mum Alona loved dearly\.
Let’s see if we can give Alona and Abbey a helping hand when they really need one\. ❤️
Thank you so much\.
