A helm for a hero, A Gift for Dan.

Due to the surprising amount of donations we are now pursuing the amazing Douglas Pryor to make a helmet for Dan. Doug's work is iconic and speaks for itself, just like Dan!

We would love to keep spreading the joy of giving a gift to this great guy, we are hoping to make his day, and maybe even get him a little teary eyed!

Hello, We are the friends and Family of Dan Quartaroli SKA Vicount Sir Daniel Drake.

In stories, some heroes are known for their deeds, for their abilities, and stories are sung about them.

In our modern life, it can be hard to find individuals with whom we feel at ease, let alone look to for their virtue.

If you know Dan, you know why I am saying this. Not only is he heroic in stature, a great heavy fighter and knight in the Society for Creative Anachronism, but he is also a good man when weighed against the weight of the everyday.

I cannot help but sing the man's praises, his sense of loyalty, duty, friendship, his honesty (some might say candor) can be relied on when you need to hear the truth. He is giving of his time, of his knowledge, and his wisdom. In today's age of mercenary interpersonal relationships, Dan is something few can say without blinking. Dan is true.

Dan stands besides his people, most of all his lovely wife, "his girl" as he calls her. He is the example of what being a husband looks like, and he inspires those of us around him to be better and do better.

I can go on, and on... but the truth is I want to celebrate Dan. I want to show him he is seen and appreciated. He is a good man in times of iniquity.

Juliana and I found out that he has his eyes on a reasonable helmet from Bareen Kalf, whom I have been a long-time friend. Bareena has offered to make his helm, a pot-style helmet that will make Dan look even more intimidating (yay?) as well as a Schianova Venetian-style hilt that Dan has been drooling over. This order will not only get Dan a couple of nice gifts but make the hilt stle available as the R and D is being done for it right now. This will cover the price and most of shipping.
