A Family's Need: Moving Johnny's Memories

Hello,

My name is Avi Malaspina. My family includes Johnny Malaspina Jr., my husband, and Barrett Malaspina, my son. Barrett and I lost Johnny to heart disease. He was only 44. He was the best human I ever got to know. He was kind, so funny, and he never met a stranger. If he liked you, you were his friend for life. He was my hunny bunny, my partner, my love, my life. He was full of life. I miss him dearly. He could make you feel at ease with a joke and a smile; he was so charming. Also, he was a former Marine who served his country proudly.

We were living in beautiful Albuquerque when he passed, but Barrett and I are now in Fort Worth, TX, living with my parents. Because he died so young, he did not have a will or life insurance. All Barrett and I have left is our furniture and personal things. He unfortunately left us very little money, which has all gone to bills.

The reason I started this page is to get help getting our stuff home. All our personal belongings, furniture, electronics, books, clothes, but most importantly, our memories are in those storage units in Albuquerque. Home is here in Texas, where we lived so happily for almost 20 years. It would break my heart if Barrett could not have his Dad’s things, his guitars, his clothes, his memories. The money I’m asking for is the exact amount we were quoted from the moving company. I realize it’s a lot, but please, if you could find it in your heart to help, you would be helping us mend our family’s broken heart.
